If this attack is successful and the target is holding any kind of Berry, the user of this move steals the Berry and uses it immediately (even if the target of the attack faints from the damage, or if the user is holding an item, or if the effect from the Berry is useless to the user), provided that the Berry in question has a "when" usage trigger; i.e all battle-effect Berries save for the type-resistance Berries (excluding* Coba), and the Leppa, Enigma, Micle, Custap, and Rowap Berries (excluding Jaboca). If the target is holding any of these latter Berries (sans exclusions) or any Berry that has no effect in battle, they are stolen and destroyed without being activated.

If a Pokémon afflicted with Embargo uses Pluck on a Pokémon holding a Berry, the Berry is destroyed without being activated, regardless of usage triggers. If the target is holding a Coba* or Jaboca Berry, its effect is activated before it can be stolen.
This move will not consume the Berry of a target behind a Substitute. It will also not consume the Berry of a target with the Sticky_Hold Ability.
In a triple battle, this move may target anyone other than the user.

*provided that the holder has a weakness to Flying-Type attacks.
