Madstone
Although he is no longer an active staff member, the Artist / cartoonist / author / musician / wholelotofotherstuff Schimre has left quite a legacy at the Pokémon Factory. One aspect of his creations is the special item Madstone. This smooth, flat, purple stone has some magical properties and is directly tied to the story of the legendary pokémon Schimre.
The Madstone has two functions. First, it can be used as a Full Heal, curing any status condition. Unlike a Full Heal, however, the Madstone is not used up in this way, so it can be reused any number of times.
If the Madstone is used on a Poison-type pokémon, however, it causes a permanent "power-up" for that pokémon, and the Madstone is used up. Just what sort of power-up depends on the Poison-type. Some pokémon evolve into new forms that they can only reach by contact with a Madstone; Ardyh, in the GSC Main Archive, is a Madstone-evolved form of Arbok; Choking, in the RSE Main Archive, is a Madstone-evolved form of Koffing. Other pokémon become larger and stronger, at the cost of their ability to evolve; a Weedle who comes into contact with a Madstone becomes the size of an Ekans and can use some TMs, but will never evolve into Kakuna. The effects of a Madstone on a Poison-type can be dangerously unpredictable (and are probably where it got its peculiar name); it is perhaps fortunate that the items are rare on a legendary level.

Hold Items

Kite
The Kite is solely found in Vantos Village. Here, children playing with these kites at the peninsula are a common sight. Pidgey are often found circling around the Kites in the air, either attracted by or scared of the Obdraycere that is printed on this item. Aside from buying one for fun, though, the Kite also has another function. If attached to a pokémon, the Kite increases any Wind-type move's power by 20%.

Magic Wand
The Magic Wand is a mysterious item that is said to be first found within the Valley of Bombur. Now these items are a common sight near Vintage Lake. If you attach this wand to one of your pokémon, they will grab hold of it – which causes their Magic-type moves' power to be increased by 20%. And if you don't want to give it to your pokémon, you can always keep it for yourself, to perform some cool magic tricks...

Prism
If light shines on a Prism, a beautiful spectrum of all the colors of the rainbow shows up. Scientists often use Prisms in laboratory investigations because of this function. However, this special item also multiplies any ray of light that is fired through it, thereby effectively powering up these beams of light. Therefore, if you attach the Prism to one of your pokémon, its Light-type moves' power is increased by 20%.

Fur Coat
The Fur Coat is a common sight in the Askorun Wastes, where people use it to keep warm in the freezing cold of the Wastes. The coat can keep pokémon warm as well. Therefore, if you attach the Fur Coat to one of your pokémon, the chance of that pokémon getting frozen is reduced by half. Also, if you trade Donphan with the Fur Coat attached, it wil evolve into Mastophon.

Lantern
Sometimes found in old mansions, the Lantern is an item made of precious materials. It appears to mysteriously produce light without even needing a candle or lamp oil. When you attach it to one of your pokémon, the power of its Fire-type and Light-type moves is increased by 5%. Also, if you level up Phloghoul with the Lantern attached, it will evolve into Phantern.

Golden Scale
Golden Scales can sometimes be found in the sands of the Cargan Desert, where they are shed by Larpharaoh. Collectors will buy them for a high price. If you trade Rhiny with a Golden Scale attached, pure gold will fuse to its body and it will evolve into Rhinox.

PeafowlPlume
If you find a PeafowlPlume somewhere, you can be sure that a Pridant passed by not too long ago. Just like Pridant spread their tail to attract female species, attaching the PeafowlPlume to your leading pokémon increases the encounter rate of pokémon of the opposite gender. Aside from this effect, the PeafowlPlume is of course very pretty as well. In contests the PeafowlPlume therefore raises the Beauty stat of your pokémon.

Oil
If you ever catch an Oiel or Petroiel, keep an eye out for the item Oil. These pokémon are often found holding it, after finding it underground. If you attach Oil to a Steel-type pokémon, it will give a slight boost to all of its stats. Aside from this, it makes the Steel-type immune to the stat-lowering effects of Rust and Weld, although it still takes damage. You may want to sell it too, as PokéMarts pay a good price for it.

Egypt Amulet
The Egypt Amulet is an ancient relic with unknown magical properties. The only person in Bombur that knows about the true secrets of this item is the Cargan nomad Rashidi Baruti, descendant of a line of Egyptian sorcerers that have been carrying the secrets of this item with them. The Egypt Amulet keeps the Mummy pokémon in life, and breeding them without this item will only result in receiving a Zombie instead. Also, all Magic-type pokémon that wear the Amulet regain 1/16th of their HP each turn.

Bamboo Shoot
This shoot of bamboo restores 40 HP upon usage. It is exclusively found amongst Bamboon, which live deep inside forests and enjoy these shoots. It is possible, however, that some Pandough may have stolen some Bamboo Shoots as well. They also have another purpose, since Bamboozl' use them to make their blowpipes. Therefore, if the Bamboo Shoot is attached to Bamboozl', its Special Attack stat will be raised by 50%.

Bound Sticks
These sticks have naturally grown together and are now inseparably joined. This natural phenomenon only occurs within the dense foliage of Grandis Forest, where it is sometimes encountered by wild Farfetch'd. Since you get two sticks for the price of one, if you attach the Bound Sticks to one of your pokémon, there's a 15% chance your pokémon will deal double damage when it executes a physical attack.

IncenseStaff
This curved staff is sometimes found in the Cargan Temple, or a wild Dallami might be holding it. The small, blue incense pots that hang from the staff give off a very stimulating scent. Therefore, if you attach the IncenseStaff to one of your pokémon, its Special Attack and Special Defense are raised by 25%.

Thick Club
It is common knowledge that the Thick Club doubles the Attack stat of Cubone and Marowak. In Bombur, however, this item has another user, namely Dou'tfowl. If it is attached to that pokémon, its Attack stat will be raised by 50%.

Pacifier
This cute, pink item never leaves the mouth of Yawnlax. Sometimes, another baby pokémon might be holding it too. It calms and soothes younger pokémon, so if you attach it to a baby pokémon, its happiness is raised faster.

ShinyShampoo
The ShinyShampoo is sold solely in Fulgida Town's PokéMart. One of the ingredients of this unique shampoo is the shiny water of the Dy'mn Stream. Use this item to make your hair shiny and make your friends jealous! It serves no actual purpose in battle, though.

AlpaquickFur
These yellow piles of wool are donated to poor villages by the legendary Alpaquick, who visits those villagers to have itself sheared. The villagers keep themselves warm with the wool by making ponchos of it. If you attach AlpaquickFur to one your pokémon, the power of its Electric-type attacks is increased by 30%, and it will mimic the special ability Static.

Dull Tail
The tail of a legendary creature, radiating an aura of absolute patience and restraint. In-battle effect: if the holder attempts to use a direct-damage attack, there is a 50% chance that the move will fail; however, a move that counters the opponent (Counter, Mirror Coat, Metal Burst) will receive a 50% damage boost.

Time Crystal
The Time Crystal is a legendary item, said to be only found once inside a cavern near the Ardor Volcano. If you attach it to one of your pokémon, its Speed will double, since it will be capable of influencing the flow of time. However, both its Defense and Special Defense are cut by 1/3 as a result. It is said that the legendary pokémon Bonzai now guards these items, and actually evolved by using it.

Lucky Charm
The Lucky Charm is a beautiful necklace that is inscribed with a clover. And, as clovers generally tend to do, this items brings good fortune with it for the wearer. Therefore, if you attach the Lucky Charm to one of your pokémon, its evasiveness will increase, as do its chances of inflicting critical hits. Also, when the Lucky Charm is attached to the elusive Concreate, it will skew the chances of Summon slightly towards higher level and legendary pokémon.

It is possible, however, that some Pandough may have stolen some Bamboo Shoots as well. They also have another purpose, since Bamboozl' use them to make their blowpipes.
