What is a Pure Flying-type?
According to rules set forth by Nintendo and honored by the Pokémon Factory, there is no such thing as a pure Flying-type species of pokémon. However, certain species are able to become pure Flying-type temporarily.Pokémon who can become Flying-type by using Conversion, Conversion 2 or Conversion 3:

Pokémon who become Flying-type while holding a Sky Plate:
Pokémon who become Flying-type while Flock or Steady Wind is in effect:
Pokémon who become Flying-type when hit with a Flying-type move:
Pokémon who become Flying-type when they use a Flying-type move...or don't:
The move Magic Cancel will also turn any Magic/Flying pokémon into a pure Flying-type for the duration.
