This move sets up an entry hazard on the opponent's side of the field, causing the opponent's Pokémon to suffer damage upon switching in. The damage this hazard deals to a given Pokémon is determined by the Pokémon's vulnerability to Rock-type attacks, and is calculated as a percentage of the Pokémon's max HP, according to the following table:
type effectiveness 0.25x = 3.125% HP type effectiveness 0.5x = 6.25% HP type effectiveness 1x = 12.5% HP type effectiveness 2x = 25% HP type effectiveness 4x = 50% HP This hazard cannot be layered. Pokémon with the Magic Guard Ability are immune to damage from this hazard. The move Rapid Spin will clear Stealth Rock from the user's side of the field, and Defog will clear it from the target's side. If a Pokémon that changes its type (for whatever reason) upon entering battle is sent out while Stealth Rock is in effect, the damage they receive is calculated using the Pokémon's initial type. |
