This move causes the user to swap its held item with the target's item, or give the target an item if it's not holding anything. The target's moves have their base power reduced by 50% as long as they continue to hold the proffered item (even if they switch out), with the reduction being negated if the item is removed by any means, including the target's own use of this move, or when the battle ends.
This move fails if the target is holding an item with a resale price that is equal to or greater than the price of the user's held item, or if either item is unsellable, or if the user is not holding anything. This move also fails if the target's happiness is at least 200, unless it is under the effects of the move Mutiny. The cessation of Mutiny's effects do not negate the effects of this move. In a double battle this move may target either opponent, and in a triple battle may target any adjacent opponent, but cannot target allies. |
