This move is performed over three turns. On the first turn, the user does nothing other than initiate the move. Two turns later, the attack hits whatever Pokémon is in the space that the user aimed at (so not necessarily the Pokémon that was initially there). This move's effect persists for its designated duration, even if the user faints or is switched out before damage is dealt.
The damage calculation utilises the Special Attack of the user on the turn damage was dealt and the Special Defense of the Pokémon that was hit (without taking into account any modifiers applied to the user's Special Attack or Accuracy from any source, in cases where the user is no longer active). The damage this move deals is considered Steel-Type, and so will not hit through Wonder_Guard, is affected by STAB, weaknesses and resistances, the Babiri Berry, the Steel Gem and the Life Orb (these activate on the turn that Doom Desire does damage).
Since the damage inflicted by this move occurs at the end of the turn, it cannot be blocked by Protect or Detect. It also ignores the effect of Endure, but does not ignore the effects of the Sturdy Ability, Focus Band or Focus Sash. Destiny Bond is also not activated by this move.
Doom Desire and Future Sight cannot be used on a targeted position when either of those moves are already in effect for that position. If Doom Desire misses, the miss will not occur until the third turn.
In a triple battle, this move may target anyone facing or adjacent to the user.

This move is the signature move of Jirachi, and is not available for use in other suggestions' movelists.
